Why did she cry?

It was a love story
That was never meant
To end on happy note.
She knew it;
All along she knew it.
It was her
Who had first confessed this truth.
She knew.
It was her
Who had accepted we would never be together;
She knew it true.
It was her,
Who always believed we will always be lovers;
She knew it through.
It was her,
Who professed one day we may forget each other;
She knew it will happen.
She knew this,
And it has all come true;
Nothing unpredictable,
Nothing not prepared for.
Then, I wonder,
Why did she cry?
